We are beginning to see a glimpse of what Continent’s first Stateside Hispanic church plant might look like!
With each passing day we are more and more convinced that God has brought Manuel and Nancy Gonzalez and Karla and Javier Leon to Fort Worth to help build a model of a Hispanic church plant that can be taken to great Hispanic cities throughout North America.
The mantra of the new church plant is Siempre Familia—Always Family. Here are a few of the efforts being made by the new team:

- Preview services were scheduled during January, February, and March to build a launch team, toward opening with a grand service on April 5th . The goal is an attendance of one hundred from the very beginning.
- The third in this series of preview services was held on March 8th, with an attendance of over 100, including 40 non-Christian visitors.
- Two people, a mother and her nine-year-old daughter, were baptized into Jesus on Saturday the 7th. The following Sunday afternoon, another sister was added to the body.
- The pre-launch time has included a series of community events utilizing the building and the 40-acre Rosemont Park across the street.
- New windows have been placed in the street side of the building along with a fresh coat of paint, to give the building an updated look.
- The fellowship room, parking lot, landscaping, kitchen, bathrooms, entry way, and several classrooms have been updated.
- Launch banners in front of the building are changed weekly.
- Thousands of invitations continue to be distributed throughout the area.
- A spring break campaign from Bowling Green, Kentucky and one from Lipscomb University in Nashville are lending a hand.
What is most impressive is that all of this is taking place under the leadership of these four outstanding team members! In the words of one team member, "We are in awe of the work of the Holy Spirit. It's by His Spirit and His love that souls are drawn to Him; and it's by His grace that we are allowed to work in His Kingdom. Gloria a Dios!" May God be praised!
Warmest regards, Gary J. Sorrells Executive Director |
